When it’s finally your time to shine in front of the boudoir camera, I want to make sure you have the best time ever! You deserve to have a photographer who values you, and sadly that’s not always the case. Having a mismatch of expectations or personalities with your photographer is a nightmare, and I want to help you avoid that at all costs. Here are 3 questions to ask your photographer before your shoot.

1. Do you help with posing?

Boudoir by Ria is a full-service experience, so when you step into my studio you don’t have to worry about a thing. I help you pose from your head all the way to your toes in ways that compliment your style. I show you what to do so that you’re comfortable and your inner goddess can be on full, glorious display. (Hint: be ready to stretch! 🙂 ) Many photographers do not offer pose coaching; if you don’t spend much time in front of the camera, you might feel awkward without direction. 

2. When do I see my portraits?

In my client’s cases, you see your portraits the same day! While you are decompressing after your time in front of the camera, I’m uploading your images onto my big-screen computer. You get to browse through all the pictures and select the ones you want to order. This part is so much fun, and some of my clients invite their BFFs to join in the choosing process! From there, the editing and printing process generally takes a few weeks before the images are ready. Some photographers prefer to edit first and therefore you have to wait weeks before even seeing your images.

3. What if I’m nervous?

Being nervous and excited is a completely normal part of the boudoir experience! To help make you as comfortable as possible, I have champagne chilling, I play your favorite tunes, and my professional glam squad makes you feel like a queen, among other things. My studio’s process also ensures that you and I connect one-on-one before the shoot even happens, so on shoot day we’ve already met before. A lot of photographers don’t offer comfort services, which can lead to a stiff photo session.
